Getting to Lordship Rec on the day
From 10am three marshalled feeder rides will escort cyclists from local parks to reach the Rec in time to join the big Secret Safari ride. The pick up points are (click the links for exact meeting points):
- Priory Park basketball area (meet 9.45am, leave at 10:00am)
- Alexandra Palace Park exit by Newland Rd (meet 10am, leave at 10:15am)
- Finsbury Park Cafe (meet 9.45am; leave at 10:00am)
- Chestnuts Park Cafe (meet 10am, leave at 10:15am)
- Down Lane Park Pavilion (meet 10am, leave at 10:15am)
Big Secret Safari family cycle ride from Lordship Rec
If joining at Lordship Rec, please meet at the Hub Café by 10.45am with riders departing at 11:00am. Our marshalled Secret Safari ride will be on local roads where we spot the varied animal murals in their Haringey habitats. Prizes for quickest shout-out and accurate identification – and who can remember the most animals we’ve seen. We return to Lordship Rec before 1pm to join events at the Tottenham Flower and Produce Show and a variety of stalls to visit, plants to buy and activities to join.
What to Expect on the Safari
- Spot colourful animal murals in their Haringey habitats
- Fun challenges: quickest animal mural shout-out, best animal ID, memory test
- A gentle, social ride on quiet local roads
Children are welcome! Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The ride is suitable for children who can pedal and control their bikes, as well as younger ones in child seats.
